Kenyan football legend joe kadenge dies

NAIROBI, KENYA JUL 7   _____legendary footballer joe kadenge,84 is dead

Kadende's fammily said he died at a hospital in NAIROBI on sunday, after a long illiness, having sufferd a stroke in February.

His son oscar told capital FM News that they were making arrangement to move the body to the Lee Funeral Home.
Kadenge suffered stroke on Feb 14, Which was attributed to the death of his daughter Evelyn in the United States which made him admitted in hospital for two months.

In January2017, Kadengefinally got his wish of meeting and having a chat with President UHURU KENYATTA, as the Head of state visited him at his South B home.

Kadenge, who said he has met and talked to all three previous Presidents expressed his desire to meet the sitting President before he bids the world goodbye and his wish on a cool sunday evening came to pass.

 The legend played for Abaluyha United and won the Kenya Premier League in 1966

 This was after he made a comeback to football,after hanging his boots in 1965, guiding Harambee stars to win the inaugural East and Central Africa Challenge Cup.

 In 1970, Kadenge stepped down as a player and went into coaching and was later appointed the national team's head coach.

 Kadenge was named Harambee stars coach in 2002 before suffering a stroke in 2006.

 The legend who populary know with the slogan "Kadenge na mpira" Passed on aged 84
